A 30-year-old man was charged Friday with sexually assaulting two girls in Santa Ana.

Jonathan Alejandro Garcia Medina was charged with a count of lewd or lascivious acts with a minor younger than 14, four counts of lewd acts on a child 14 or 15, a count of unlawful sexual intercourse, a count of possession of child pornography, and three counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor who is three years younger than the defendant, all felonies.

Medina is also facing a sentencing enhancement for inflicting great bodily injury on one of the victims.

He is accused of assaulting one victim in June, October and July of last year as well as Jan. 1 of this year. He is accused of assaulting the other victim between November 2021 and July 2022.

Medina did not enter a plea at his arraignment in the jail courtroom on Friday. The arraignment was rescheduled for March 21 and he was ordered held on $100,000 bail.

Further details were not immediately available. Messages left with Santa Ana police and prosecutors were not immediately returned.
