City officials asked residents Tuesday to participate in the Coachella Rail Station Feasibility Study meeting next week to discuss the location and design of a proposed train station.

The meeting was originally scheduled earlier this month but was moved to July 24 due to the soaring high temperatures in the Coachella Valley.

The meeting will be held from 4-6 p.m. at Coachella Branch Library, 1500 Sixth St.

The rail project would provide service connecting to the Coachella Valley to Downtown Los Angeles and Orange County.

Officials said the Pueblo Viejo district area is being examined as a potential site for the rail station.

Participants will have the opportunity to share their thoughts on station access, surrounding connections, amenities and design features. Food and refreshments will be provided at the event.

The first 50 attendees will be entered into a raffle to win a $100 grocery gift card.
