A big rig carrying about 7,000 gallons of milk crashed and overturned, spilling some of its load, Sunday in Riverside.

The crash occurred on the eastbound 91 freeway at the downtown Riverside interchange about 5:20 p.m., according to the Riverside Fire Department.

The department sent 21 firefighters to the scene, along with three engines and two trucks, the department reported.

A HazMat unit also responded to the crash site and helped clean up the spill.

No injuries were reported, the department said.
