A woman hiking a trial on the eastern edge of Idyllwild Thursday suffered injuries that left her stranded, requiring firefighters to rescue her.
The “hiker down” call was received just after noon on the Ernie Maxwell Scenic Trail, near Tahquitz View Drive, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Idyllwild Fire Protection District personnel reached the location first and initiated a search for the victim, along with county fire crews, who arrived minutes later.
The hiker, whose identity was not disclosed, was found about 12:35 p.m., roughly a half-mile from the trailhead with unspecified minor injuries, according to officials.
Firefighters assisted the victim down the trail to an ambulance.
There was no immediate word on whether she would require hospitalization.
