The annual Snow-Fest at North Pole Village event, featuring holiday festivities, food, train rides and real snow will be held Saturday in downtown Cathedral City.
From 1 to 8 p.m. Saturday, the event will be in full display in front of City Hall, 68700 Avenida Lalo Guerrero, according to a statement from the city. The “North Pole Village” will feature 20 holiday-themed storefronts that will be on display each evening until Jan. 8, 2024.
Throughout the day, attendees will have an opportunity to listen to holiday music, meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, participate in elf workshops and bike giveaways, walk through a holiday outdoor market and much more, city officials said.
Santa Claus will arrive at 5 p.m. to take family holiday pictures and selfies with attendees, according to city officials. Shortly after his arrival, Mayor Rita Lamb will conduct the tree-lighting ceremony as the crowd counts down from 10 and the Cathedral City High School Choir performs a limited holiday concert.
Residents who miss Mr. Claus on Saturday will have three other opportunities to meet him and Mrs. Claus, one each on the day following the Snow-Fest event, on Dec. 16, and on Dec. 23, city officials said. He will be available from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day in front of City Hall and Santa Claus on Dec. 16 will be bilingual.
