The average price of a gallon of self-service regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped Tuesday to its lowest amount since Dec. 31, 2022, decreasing six-tenths of a cent to $4.349.

The average price has dropped seven of the past eight days, decreasing 3.2 cents, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It dropped six consecutive days, rose four-tenths of a cent Monday and resumed decreasing Tuesday.

The average price is 1.8 cents less than one week ago, 10.7 cents lower than one month ago and 65.7 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $2.024 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped for the sixth consecutive day, decreasing a half-cent to $3.078. The average price has dropped 2.9 cents over the past six days, including two-tenths of a cent Monday. The streak of decreases follows back-to-back increases totaling six-tenths of a cent.

The national average price is 2.4 cents less than one week ago, 12.6 cents lower than one month ago and 29.1 cents below what it was one year ago. The national average price has dropped $1.938 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
