A long-running conference that brings together elected officials, community leaders and residents to discuss the future of Blythe and the Palo Verde Valley will be held Tuesday.

The 67th annual Palo Verde Valley Outlook conference will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Fine & Performing Arts Center at Palo Verde College, One College Drive.

The free event will feature numerous speakers, including county Supervisor V. Manuel Perez; Garth Dale, chief of the Blythe Police Department; Blythe Mayor Joey DeConinck; interim Blythe City Manager Mallory Crecelius; Blythe Chamber of Commerce President Maria Gonzalez; and Ocean Pacific Energy Company CEO Timothy Nelligan.

A resource fair and refreshments will begin at 9 a.m. with a lunch provided immediately after the conference.

Perez said in a statement the conference “is always a major event for Blythe, where the city, the county, local agencies, the Chamber of Commerce and the community get together to discuss and take a look at the future together.”

“This is an event that started way before me, and I appreciate that we have continued this tradition,” Perez said. “It’s also a tradition of the county, as we have quite a bit of our folks from the County of Riverside and our departments who come and engage and participate with the community.”
