A Silver Alert was activated Tuesday on behalf of an 89-year-woman and her 63-year-old companion who were last seen in Hemet.
Mariam Espinoza and Alexander Serrano, 63, both of Hemet, were last seen walking together Monday afternoon near the intersection of North San Jacinto Street and Oakland Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert on behalf of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.
The specific relationship between Espinoza and Serrano was not provided.
Espinoza was described as 5 feet, 6 inches tall and 100 pounds, with shoulder-length gray hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a beige coat with burgundy stripes, a burgundy beanie and blue pants.
Serrano was described as 5 feet, 9 inches tall and 165 pounds, with very closely cropped gray hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a blue flannel jacket and blue shorts when last seen, authorities said.
Anyone with information regarding Espinoza and Serrano’s whereabouts was urged to call 911.
The Silver Alert program was established by the CHP to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearances of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
