The Los Angeles Kings will hold Jewish Pride Night during Thursday evening’s game against the Ottawa Senators at Staples Center, offering a discounted ticket package that includes a Kings yarmulke.
The ticket packages can be purchased at lakings.com/Jewish.
The yarmulkes will be available for purchase at the Kings Care Foundation booth outside Section 102. Proceeds benefit the foundation, the team’s charity which promotes health, education and recreation projects.
The Jewish Community Children’s Choir will sing “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
Jewish Pride Night comes five days before the start of Hanukkah, Judaism’s eight-day commemoration of the temple rededication that followed the Maccabees’ victory over a larger Syrian army in 165 B.C.
The game is also the second in the Kings four-game toy drive benefiting area children’s charities. Toys can be dropped off at any entrance to Staples Center. Donors will receive a raffle ticket for a drawing for Kings signed memorabilia.
The toy drive will also be held at games Saturday and Dec. 21.
