Two people were displaced Tuesday evening by a house fire near Riverside that killed two dogs.
Firefighters responded to the 17000 block of Spring View Court in the unincorporated El Sobrante area, north of Lake Matthews, about 8:45 p.m. and found fire coming from the first and second floors of the home, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The fire was contained at 9:16 p.m., the department said.
The Red Cross was requested to assist two adults displaced by the fire and Riverside County Animal Control was called to the scene for two dead dogs, according to the department.
Firefighters from the Corona Fire Department assisted county crews in extinguishing the fire.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
