A wildfire in Jurupa Valley Saturday charred 20 acres and was burning at a moderate rate.
The fire was reported at 3:09 p.m. near Sierra Avenue and Karen Lane, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The blaze was initially estimated to be up to 10 acres before growing to 20 acres.
Low humidity, westward winds of 17 mph and temperatures in the 90s were helping to fuel the fire, which was burning in light grasses, fire officials said.
Riverside County sheriff’s deputies closed Sierra Avenue from Armstrong Road to the San Bernardino County line.
