A man was shot and killed Monday near the Santa Monica Pier.
The shooting was reported about 12:30 a.m. in a parking lot on the south side of the pier, according to a sergeant on the watch commander’s desk of the Santa Monica Police Department.
The wounded man was pronounced dead at the scene, the sergeant said. His age was not immediately available.
Details about what led up to the shooting were under investigation and no one was in custody.
No suspect description has been released.
A body could be seen in the lot, according to a report from the scene.
