And then a new heat wave will hit the Southland by mid-week.
The National Weather Service forecast for Los Angeles and vicinity on Monday calls for areas of low clouds and fog in the morning then partly cloudy. Highs will approach the 80-degree mark at the beaches and downtown Los Angeles and other inland areas will see the mercury climb to the mid-80s. Valleys will be in the high 80s.
Monday night it will be partly cloudy in the evening then areas of low clouds and fog. Lows in the 60s.
The forecast for Tuesday calls for low clouds and fog in the morning then sunny. Highs from the mid 70s at the beaches to the mid 80s inland.
By Wednesday, a new round of hot weather will come to the Southland, with inland areas and downtown Los Angeles in the low-90s and the beaches seeing temperatures in the mid-80s.
In Coastal Orange County the forecast for Monday calls for areas of low clouds and fog in the morning then mostly
sunny. Highs 80 to 85.
Monday night it will be mostly clear in the evening then low clouds and fog. Lows around 64.
Tuesday it will be foggy in the morning then mostly sunny. Highs 79 to 84.
The ultraviolet index level in the Los Angeles area for Monday is a high 8, according to the weather service. A high exposure level reading of 7-9 means that a person could be sunburned in 7-8 minutes.
