A record amount of rain was recorded in Anaheim, but it was only a fraction of an inch, the National Weather Service is reporting Tuesday.

There was 0.02 inches of rain recorded in Anaheim on Monday, breaking a record of a trace in 2021.

It came during a dry spell in Southern California, with scattered showers and thunderstorms moving through the area.

The NWS is forecasting dry weather for the rest of the week. Coastal temperatures will be slightly above normal and inland temperatures will be above normal through midweek. Coastal clouds are expected overnight and near the coast through Wednesday, pushing farther inland and eventually into the valleys by the weekend.

A cooling trend is expected through the weekend.
