Los Angeles city firefighters put out a large outdoor fire Sunday that briefly threatened some structures near the Los Angeles-Vernon boundary.

The fire was described as 50-by-25-foot pile of “baled goods”  in the 3700 block of Union Pacific Avenue, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles City Fire Department.

Firefighters dispatched to the location at 1 p.m had the fire out 30 minutes later. No injuries were reported, Humphrey said.

The fire was not far from the interchange of the Santa Ana (5) and Long Beach (710) freeways.
