The Riverside County coroner’s office Saturday released the names of three men and one woman killed in a street-racing crash that injured a fifth victim on the westbound Moreno Valley (60) Freeway in Moreno Valley.

Two victims were ejected and three were trapped in the wreckage of the crash, which was reported about 7:30 p.m. Friday west of Redlands Boulevard, according to Tawny Cabral of the Riverside County Fire Department.

“Four of the victims perished at the scene and one victim suffered serious injuries,” Cabral said.

The deceased victims were identified as Valentino Ramos, 21, Luna Airyana, 20, Polo Najera Perez, 21 and Rafael Ramirez Espinoza, 21, all of San Bernardino.

The white, 1999 BMW 328i was moving at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control, crashed into the center divider guardrail and overturned, California Highway Patrol Officer B. Johs said.

Witnesses interviewed at the scene stated the driver of the BMW was possibly street racing before the crash, Johs said. “They described the other vehicle as possibly a dark colored Honda.”

The surviving passenger, a 19-year-old woman from Colton, was taken to Riverside University Health Systems with injuries described as moderate, the officer said. Her name was not released.

“Alcohol is suspected to have been a factor in this collision,” Johs said. The four deceased victims were not wearing seat belts. The survivor was wearing a seat belt.

Anyone with information about the crash was asked to call Johs at (951) 637-8000.
