A state prison inmate pleaded not guilty Tuesday to killing a woman who was found dead in Inglewood more than 3 1/2 years ago.
Jonathan Fredrrick Waters, 34, is charged with murder for the March 19 slaying of Elizabeth Ann Toy, who was found dead March 19, 2016, in the 400 block of East 99th Street.
The 43-year-old woman died on a walkway from blunt force head trauma, according to the coroner’s office.
Waters was serving time on an unrelated robbery case when he was charged with the killing, according to Inglewood police, who did not disclose a motive for the killing.
Waters remains jailed without bail, jail records show.
He is due back in an Inglewood courtroom Jan. 28, when a date is scheduled to be set for a hearing to determine if there is sufficient evidence to allow the case against him to proceed to trial.
