A crash involving a tanker truck near the Kern County community of Lebec Wednesday blocked both directions of the Golden State (5) Freeway, including traffic headed for Los Angeles.
The truck, hauling an unknown chemical, crashed about 7:40 a.m. at Lebec Road, according to the California Highway Patrol. At least one person was injured.
The southbound lanes were closed at Lebec Road in Kern County and the northbound lanes were closed at Parker Road in Los Angeles County.
Crews were sent to clean up a spill of the chemical.
