A large tree felled by strong Santa Ana winds crushed two vehicle in Riverside Wednesday, but no one was hurt.
Firefighters responded at 11:25 a.m. to the 7100 block of Orchard Street, where they found a 100-foot-tall pine tree down in front of a home, according to Riverside City Fire Department Battalion Chief Bruce Vanderhorst.
The fallen tree smashed two vehicles, causing about $70,000 in damage, he said.
The driver of one of the flattened cars had just gotten out of it when the tree came crashing down, ABC7 reported.
The tree also knocked down power lines, cutting electricity to two houses, Vanderhorst said.
Orchard Street was closed between Washington and Rossmuir streets while crews cleaned up the debris and restored power to the homes.
