The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Saturday for the 32nd time in 33 days, falling 1.9 cents to $5.595, its lowest amount since March 14.

The average price has fallen 62 cents over the past 33 days, including 3.3 cents Friday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 17.8 cents less than one week ago and 61 cents less than one month ago, but 95.1 cents more than one year ago.

The Orange County average price dropped for the 37th time in 38 days, decreasing 2 cents to $5.465, its lowest amount since March 13. It has dropped 68.7 cents over the past 38 days, including 3.7 cents Friday. The Orange County average price is 17.6 cents less than one week ago and 70.2 cents less than one month ago, but 89.8 cents more than one year ago.

“Oil prices are trading below $80 a barrel today and gas prices in Southern California have tumbled by about 60 cents a gallon below their highest point of the year reached in early May,” Kandace Redd, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s senior public affairs specialist, said in a statement released Thursday. “But there is still a long way to go to reach the prices that drivers were paying at this time last year. Consumers should continue to aggressively shop around for the lowest gas prices near them using an online tool.”

The national average price dropped for the 30th consecutive day, falling 2.2 cents to $3.951. It has fallen 61.3 cents over the past 30 days, including 2.6 cents Friday. It is 13.5 cents less than one week ago and 60.4 cents less than one month ago, but 73.4 cents more than one year ago.
