Fire tore through a home in East Hemet Friday before firefighters were able to gain the upper hand.
The non-injury blaze was reported at 9:37 a.m. in the 41000 block of Johnston Avenue and was contained less than 10 minutes later, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Five engine crews responded to the single-story home and encountered smoke visible from outside the structure.
The extent of the damage was not immediately clear.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
