
Temperatures again will be 10 to 20 degrees above normal Thursday and high surf again will pound the coastline.
The high temperatures are the result of high pressure aloft and weak to moderate Santa Ana winds, according to the National Weather Service. Above- normal temperatures will persist in some communities until early next week, said NWS meteorologist Robbie Munroe.
Along the coast, a high surf advisory will be in force until 5 p.m. in Orange County and 9 p.m. in L.A. County.
The NWS forecast sunny skies in Los Angeles County Thursday and highs of 79 on Mount Wilson and in Palmdale; 80 in Lancaster; 82 in Avalon; 86 at LAX; 88 in Saugus; 89 in downtown L.A., San Gabriel and Burbank; 90 in Pasadena; 93 in Long Beach and Woodland Hills.
Sunny skies were also forecast in Orange County, along with highs of 82 in Newport Beach and Laguna Beach; 84 in San Clemente; 90 in Mission Viejo; 91 in Anaheim, Irvine and Yorba Linda; and 92 in Fullerton. Temperatures will fall to the 80s and 70s beginning Friday.
